
Wilfred Wong is a Deputy to the National People's Congress of the PRC, having been elected in 1997 and subsequently re-elected in 2002 and 2008. He was formerly a senior official in the Hong Kong government from 1991 until he joined the private sector in 1992. He has since held senior management positions in a number of well-known Hong Kong listed companies. He was previously Managing Director of Henderson China Holdings Limited and Deputy Chief Executive of K.Wah Management Services Limited and was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Shui On Land Limited from 2004 to 2007. In June 2007, he was appointed as Group Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mission Hills Group, a leisure and real estate group in the PRC. Mr Wong has more than 10 years' investment experience in China and in 1994, he founded China Investment Group Limited for the purpose of making investments in infrastructure projects in China. He was also the Chairman of China-focused private equity funds, The Yangtze Ventures Limited and The Yangtze Ventures II Limited, which he founded in 2000 and 2003. During his time in the Hong Kong government, Mr. Wong held a number of positions, including Deputy Director General of Industry and Deputy Secretary for the Civil Services. From 1985 to 1990 and 1994 to 1997 he was respectively a member of the Basic Law Consultative Committee and the Preparatory Committee, and worked on the transitional arrangements for the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2003 and awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star Medal by the Hong Kong government in 2007. Mr Wong received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences in 1975 from the University of Hong Kong, and an MPA in Public Administration from Harvard University in 1987.
Timothy Barker is the senior independent director of Drax Group plc (an electricity generating business) and Electrocomponents plc (an international distributor of electrical, electronic and industrial components), and was appointed to these boards in 2005 and 2000 respectively. Both of these companies are listed on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange and are constituent members of the FTSE 250 Index. From 1993 until his retirement in 2000 he was vice chairman of Kleinwort Benson Group plc, an international investment banking business, and then its successor, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. In the mid 1980s he was Director General of the UK Panel on Takeover and Mergers. Mr. Barker received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in 1967. Mr. Barker is also a member of the Professional Oversight Board of the Financial Reporting Council in the United Kingdom.
Anthony Griffiths is an independent non-executive director of Shui On Construction and Materials Limited, a position he has held since its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1997. He is also a director of several other non-listed companies in Hong Kong. From 1986 to 2004, he was director at GML Consulting Ltd, a management consultancy firm, and based in Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Institute of Management Consultants (Hong Kong Branch) and The Hong Kong Institute of Directors. Mr. Griffiths received the Director of the Year Award in the category of Listed Company Non-Executive Directors from The Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2006.
Hoon Tai Meng is a partner in KhattarWong, one of Singapore's largest law firms and has more than ten years' experience in legal practice. In addition, he has over 19 years' experience in financial planning and management, audit, tax and corporate secretarial functions. Before practicing law, he was a practising public accountant running his own public accountancy firm, M/s Hoon Tai Meng & Co., from 1994 to 1996. He is an independent director of a number of companies including Chip Eng Seng Corporation Limited, a construction and property development company listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange Limited. Mr. Hoon received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy in 1976 from Nanyang University, Singapore and a LL.B. (Hons) in 1993 from the University of London, England. He is also a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) and an Advocate and Solicitor of the Singapore Supreme Court. Mr. Hoon is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Singapore).
Stephen Ip graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Social Sciences in 1973. He subsequently pursued post-graduate studies in Oxford University and Harvard Business School. Mr. Ip joined the Hong Kong Government in November 1973 and was promoted to the rank of Director of Bureau in April 1997. He worked in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government as a Principal Official from July 1997 to June 2007. Senior positions held by Mr. Ip have included Commissioner of Insurance, Commissioner for Labour, Secretary for Economic Services and Secretary for Financial Services. Mr. Ip took up the position of Secretary for Economic Development and Labour on 1 July 2002. His portfolio in respect of economic development covered air and sea transport, logistics development, tourism, energy, postal services, meteorological services, competition and consumer protection. He was also responsible for labour polices, including matters relating to employment services, labour relations and employees' rights. In his capacity as Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr. Ip was the Director of Hong Kong International Theme Parks Ltd. He has held a number of other appointments, including having been on the boards of the Hong Kong Airport Authority and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, as well as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, Hong Kong Port Development Council and Hong Kong Maritime Industry Council. Mr. Ip retired from the Hong Kong Government in July 2007. Mr Ip received the Gold Bauhinia Star award from the Hong Kong Government in 2001, and is an unofficial Justice of the Peace.
