Background

The Company is a closed-end investment company registered in the Cayman Islands.  The Company will seek to make minority equity and equity related investments in small and medium-sized growth businesses within or associated with the consumer sector and whose operations are based principally in China.  The Directors and the Investment Adviser believe that the Chinese economy offers an attractive environment for private equity investing.  Sustained economic growth, government reforms and an expanding middle class with rising disposable incomes are among factors which the Directors and the Investment Adviser believe have led to the emergence of opportunities to invest in fast growing companies, particularly in, or associated with, the consumer sector.
